Defender Mouloud Akloul scored off a rebound in extra time and the Vancouver Whitecaps advanced to the Canadian Championship final, holding off the Montreal Impact on Wednesday night for a 2-1 aggregate victory.
Vancouver will face Major League Soccer rival Toronto FC in the two-game final. Toronto beat FC Edmonton.
Montreal's Ali Gerba forced extra time to decide the two-game series, scoring on a penalty kick in the 83rd minute. The Whitecaps won the first game 1-0 in Montreal on April 27.
