Valladolid fired coach Onesimo Sanchez on Monday with the Spanish
club in danger of being relegated from Spain's top division.
Sanchez managed only one victory in 10 games since replacing
Jose Luis Mendilibar in February. The club is penultimate in the
league standings, seven points off survival with eight games to
play.
Valladolid plays Tenerife, which is also fighting to avoid
the drop, on Saturday.
Assistant Jorge Alonso will replace Sanchez until a new coach
is named, the club said.
