Tony Pulis has been searching for a fourth centre-half - he currently only has Robert Huth, Ryan Shawcross and Jonathan Woodgate - and has turned his attention to Upson after giving up hope of landing Birmingham's Scott Dann. Upton was holding talks at the Britannia Stadium on Tuesday and is expected to sign in time to go into the Potters' squad to face Chelsea this weekend.
