UEFA sending official to monitor Tottenham-Madrid

UEFA is sending a top disciplinary official to monitor Tottenham's Champions League match against Real Madrid on Wednesday after Emmanuel Adebayor said English fans racially abused him last week.

UEFA has appointed Jacques Antenen, vice chairman of its disciplinary panel, as match delegate at the quarterfinal second leg in London.

Antenen is police chief in UEFA's home canton (state) Vaud.

Adebayor asked UEFA to act after Tottenham fans chanted an offensive song before the first-leg match. The Togo international scored twice in Madrid's 4-0 win.

UEFA says it couldn't investigate because the incident wasn't reported by its delegate, stadium security or police.

UEFA has a zero-tolerance policy on discrimination in stadiums.
