On Friday, following a long week of speculation, Jose Mourinho was finally appointed the new manager of Manchester United on a three-year deal with an option to stay at the club until at least 2020.

The Portuguese coach replaced Louis van Gaal after his two-year stretch at Old Trafford ended on Monday following a poor season in the Premier League.

Understandably, after a long drawn-out process, the Twittersphere exploded into life once 'The Special One' was confirmed as the Red Devils' new leader.

Everyone had their say:

"To become Manchester United manager is a special honor in the game," Mourinho said on his arrival at Old Trafford.

"It is a club known and admired throughout the world. There is a mystique and a romance about it which no other club can match.

"I have always felt an affinity with Old Trafford; it has hosted some important memories for me in my career and I have always enjoyed a rapport with the United fans."

The 53-year-old managed Chelsea over two spells in the Premier League, and some of their supporters weren't too happy about his comments.

However, after three years of mediocrity, it seems there are mixed feelings among the Manchester United fanbase.
