Vitesse were on course to inflict only a second defeat of the season on Twente after Paul Verhaegh's 50th-minute opener but Bryan Ruiz levelled on the counter-attack in the 82nd minute. Ronnie Stam then grabbed a dramatic winner in the 92nd minute to keep Twente's title challenge on track. Second-half goals from Dennis Rommedahl and Luis Suarez guided Ajax to a 2-0 victory at Heerenveen as they continued their pursuit of the top two in the Eredivisie. Rommedahl put the Amsterdam side ahead four minutes after half-time with a close-range shot before Suarez wrapped up the points a minute from time as Ajax claimed their sixth away win of the season. The defeat, Heerenveen's fifth home reverse, leaves them hovering perilously close to the relegation zone. AZ Alkmaar moved up to sixth by claiming a 2-0 win over struggling Roda JC tonight. An own goal by Pa-Modou Kah gave AZ the lead with 20 minutes to go and Rasmus Elm made sure with a second six minutes from the end. ADO Den Haag boosted their survival hopes with an impressive 3-0 win over fellow strugglers Willem II. Ricky van den Bergh struck a double before Santy Hulst added a third to secure an important win for the hosts who, at least momentarily, climbed out of the bottom three. ADO's win was only their second in their past 17 league games while Willem II have now lost their past five away matches.
