Coyle took over from Gary Megson in January 2010 and the Trotters have not looked back. Premier League safety was secured and the Trotters have pushed on this term - including reaching the FA Cup semi-final against Stoke on Sunday. Club chairman Gartside is delighted with the impact former Bolton player Coyle has had at the Reebok. He told The People: "It is the best thing that ever happened to this club in terms of revitalising it and giving it back its passion. "We still have some way to go but he will get us there." But the chairman insists he would not stand in Coyle's way if a bigger club came in for the former Burnley boss. He added: "If Manchester United or someone like that came on the phone, I would say 'Right, I will drive you there to meet them'. "I am not frightened about what might happen and losing Owen. I can't stop him. "But it would have to be a hell of a job to interest him. "I know how much he enjoys his football here. "He said 'no' to Celtic, and then 'yes' to us when he was at Burnley, so that tells you a lot too. "If he gets targeted by the type of club I think will come for him one day, he would go with our blessing - and he would also have brought us success in the meantime. "He is young, he has got a great career in front of him. Owen has a vision of what he would like - young players, good football, enthusiasm at all levels."
