Torres hails Reds improvement
Fernando Torres is confident Liverpool are heading in the right direction under Kenny Dalglish following Sunday's derby draw against Everton.
The Reds are still looking for their first win under Dalglish but their first-half performance against Everton showed a marked improvement to anything they've produced this season.
Torres' own form has also taken an upturn since Dalglish's arrival, with a menacing display against Everton - in which he hit the post and caused the visitors' defence immeasurable problems - following on from his superbly-taken goal in the midweek defeat at Blackpool.
The Spain international reflected the sentiments of his manager and the general feeling within the squad by stating his belief that things are getting better after a dismal opening half to the season.
"We are disappointed with the result but we are improving and moving in the right direction," said the 26-year-old.
"The performance of the team was very good again and we are playing better.
"The most important thing is getting results but if we keep playing like that they will come soon.
"Our target is just winning games. We will see what happens in the next game because we need to start getting three points in every game.
"We will see what happens at the end of the season but we have to start winning because it's a long time since our last one (against Bolton on New Year's Day)."
Torres felt Liverpool could have won the derby with a bit more luck as after he hit the post in the first half the home side dominated, with Raul Meireles scored his maiden goal since joining in the summer.
Half-time saw their fortunes turn around as Everton scored twice within six minutes of the restart but Dirk Kuyt's penalty ensured Dalglish finally got a point on the board.
"If we had taken the chances we had, particularly in the first half, we would have been winning by two or three at half-time - but that's football," Torres told LFCTV.
"In the second half they started well and scored two goals.
"After that we had a good reaction and got level at 2-2.
"We had chances at the end but you don't always get the reward you deserve when you play well. We are disappointed by that."
