The search for a striker at Juventus has become more pressing following confirmation that Luca Toni will be out for a month with a knee injury.
Tests revealed the Italy international suffered a knee ligament lesion during Thursday's Coppa Italia triumph over Catania.
The veteran forward joined Juve last week from Genoa shortly after the Turin giants had lost Fabio Quagliarella to a knee injury for the rest of the campaign.
To complicate matters for Juve coach Luigi Del Neri ahead of Sunday's match against rock-bottom Bari, Italy striker Vincenzo Iaquinta is also still sidelined by injury while captain Alessandro Del Piero is doubtful with a knee problem.
