Tom Huddlestone has won an appeal against his red card during Tottenham's draw with Norwich and has had a three-match ban rescinded.

The Football Association announced on Tuesday afternoon that midfielder Huddlestone's claim for wrongful dismissal had been upheld.

Spurs contested the straight red card shown to the 25-year-old by referee Mark Halsey for a tackle on Jonny Howson late in the game.

Saturday was Huddlestone's first appearance for more than a year after he came off the bench at White Hart Lane.

The midfielder has been plagued by ankle problems and a loan move to Stoke broke down over concerns about a medical.

His bid to prove his fitness would not have been helped by a suspension that would have included games against Reading and QPR, and a Capital One Cup clash at Carlisle.
