The 6ft 8in frontman went to the 2006 finals with Serbia and Montenegro, but it is not a tournament he remembers with any great fondness. But this time around, he is confident he is a better player both mentally and physically, and is desperate to show it. Zigic told FIFA's website: "I have changed a lot. I went to Germany as player with no reputation or real experience to speak of. "Tactically, I have learned a lot and I'm in much better condition, both physically and psychologically. "This is my World Cup, I think I can play a lead role and I want to show I'm a player that can do it in big games." Zigic, who completed a move to Premier League Birmingham from Valencia last week, played the first half of his country's 0-0 draw with Poland in Austria last night. They will face Cameroon at the weekend before departing for South Africa and are intent on qualifying from Group D, in which they will face Germany, Ghana and Australia. Zigic said: "We believe we are capable of qualifying from this group. "We know it won't be easy and we face some tough opponents, but we want to continue our form from qualifying and show that we can take on any team in the world."
