Switzerland forward Mario Gavranovic has been suspended from training by his club Zurich and faces further disciplinary action.

Zurich says Gavranovic is suspended because of incidents ''before and during'' the team's 1-0 win at Young Boys on Sunday. He was an unused substitute.

The former Schalke player is banished from training ahead of Switzerland coach Ottmar Hitzfeld naming his squad on Friday for two World Cup qualifying matches.

With two goals in three qualifiers he has played in, Gavranovic has helped Switzerland build a five-point lead in its group with two matches left. The Swiss play at Albania on Oct. 11 and home to Slovenia four days later.
