Sweden's Marcus Allback suspect in bribery probe
Sweden's national team assistant coach Marcus Allback has been named as a suspect in a bribery investigation involving construction projects in western Sweden.
Prosecutor Nils-Erik Schultz confirmed to The Associated Press that Allback is suspected of breach of trust in a probe focused on his father's construction firm.
Allback, a former Sweden striker, hasn't been charged. His lawyer called the allegations ''absurd.''
The investigation was launched after an investigative report by national broadcaster SVT last year suggested Allback's father was able to overcharge for city-funded construction projects in return for private favors for city officials.
Schultz declined to specify the allegations against Marcus Allback, saying the investigation was ongoing.
