Stuttgart says it has turned down Bayer Leverkusen's bid for goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

Director of sports Fredi Bobic tells Kicker magazine Leverkusen made ''an offer not worth mentioning'' and that Stuttgart wants to keep Leno anyway.

Leno was Stuttgart's backup keeper when he was sent on loan to Leverkusen at the start of the season to fill in for the injured Rene Adler. The time of Adler's return from knee surgery remains uncertain and Leverkusen is keen to retain the talented Leno after the loan deal expires on Dec. 31.
