VALENCIA, Spain (AP) Struggling Spanish club Levante has fired coach Lucas Alcaraz after it fell to the bottom of the standings.

Levante made the announcement after the team lost 4-0 at home to Real Sociedad on Sunday.

The Valencia-based side is in last place after only one win in nine rounds.

Alcaraz took over Levante one year ago and helped it avoid relegation last season.
