Spartak eye Pavlyuchenko move
Spartak sold the Russia international to Spurs in 2008, with his performances in European Championship qualifying - especially against England - bringing him to the attention of Premier League clubs. The 29-year-old has made over 100 appearances for Tottenham since arriving in England, netting 40 goals, but he has struggled to hold down a regular role. Frustration at his failure to convince Harry Redknapp of his ability to lead the line has led him to question his future on a regular basis. He is open to a January move, with reports suggesting he has been offered to QPR. His possible availability has also alerted the attention of Spartak, with the Russian outfit prepared to offer him a route back to his homeland. Karpin has confirmed Pavlyuchenko is in their thoughts. "He is one player on our list of targets," he said. "We consider many and he is one."
