South Korea warmed up for the World Cup by defeating Ecuador 2-0 on second-half goals by Lee Sung-ryeol and Lee Chung-yong.

The South Koreans controlled play in the first half Sunday but were unable to crack Ecuador's defense until Lee Sung-ryeol turned past two defenders and sent a low shot into the net with 18 minutes left.

Lee Chung-yong sealed it with six minutes remaining, taking advantage of slack defense to score from close range.

South Korea is grouped in the World Cup with Argentina, Greece and Nigeria. Its next tuneup game is May 24 when it plays at Japan.
