South Africa coach Gordon Igesund has admitted himself to a hospital with severe abdominal pains.

The South African Football Association says Igesund went in on Tuesday and ''might be suffering from appendicitis,'' according to initial tests.

The doctor treating Igesund says further tests are being carried out to confirm the diagnosis but he is confident Igesund ''will be back on his feet soon.''

Dr. Ephraim Nematswerani says ''it is nothing too serious.''
