Slovakian striker Milos Lacny has turned down the chance to join Celtic.

The 21-year-old Ruzomberok forward was being tracked by a number of clubs, including the Scottish giants.

But Lacny has opted to join Sparta Prague instead.

"I am enormously happy to become a Sparta player," he told CTK Sport.

"I have been interested in joining them more than other clubs, that is why I have decided for them quickly. I feel they have been very interested in my services.

"Moreover, there will be a bigger chance for me to gain experience here rather than at Celtic."

Lacny's agent Pavel Zika confirmed Celtic were keen on securing his signature after he spent time on trial in Glasgow at the end of last year.

"A lot of clubs were interested; Celtic were especially keen on signing him," said Zika.

"At the end of 2009 Milos played in a friendly game for them and even scored a goal.

"Eventually, though, we have come to the conclusion that the option to join Sparta will be best solution for his career now, although it was not an easy decision."
