Side Kicks: Sitting on the fence

Last night's MLS playoff opener between Seattle and Houston couldn't have been set up any better.

A sold-out crowd that was loud and passionate, national TV coverage, and stars like Freddie Ljungberg, Stuart Holden and Brian Ching on display.

Unfortunately, neither team delivered much and the soccer naysayers in this country were given another 0-0 scoreline to use as evidence against the game in America. That's too bad — what should have been a great night for soccer in America was reduced to a back-and-forth exhibition of sloppy play, poor decision making and tactical ineptitude.
