Shinnie strike knocks Hibs
Inverness maintained the pressure on second-place Motherwell and dented Hibernian's top-six hopes with a 2-1 win at Easter Road.
Andrew Shinnie's deflected second-half strike earned the points after Leigh Griffiths had cancelled out Ross Draper's well-taken opener.
Hibs looked the brighter side in the early stages as Gary Deegan tested Antonio Reguero before Eoin Doyle's shot drifted just wide.
Caley Thistle finally got a foothold in the game and went close through Owain Tudor-Jones and Aaron Doran, but Hibs hit back as Reguero denied Leigh Griffiths and Ryan McGivern hit the side-netting.
But the visitors broke the deadlock three minutes after the break when Draper latched onto Richie Foran's pass and floated a delightful chip over Ben Williams.
Reguero did well to keep out a Griffiths effort, but Hibs equalised on 59 minutes as Deegan's shot took a wild deflection off Griffiths and found the net with Reguero wrong-footed.
However, Shinnie restored Caley Thistle's lead six minutes later, getting on the end of a Josh Meekings free-kick and steering a composed finish past Williams.
McGivern fired wide from distance and Hibs forced a series of corners in the closing minutes, but Inverness defended stoutly to pick up their fifth away win of the season.
