Shaw wants quick appointment
Coventry caretaker boss Richard Shaw has called for the vacant managerial position at the Ricoh Arena to be sorted as soon as possible.
Shaw, who wants the job on a permanent basis and will be interviewed, was speaking after the Sky Blues continued their winless start to the League One season with an unfortunate 2-1 home defeat to unbeaten Stevenage.
Coventry development director Steve Waggott on Sunday morning revealed a lengthy shortlist of applicants has been narrowed down to nine candidates, all of whom will be met face-to-face this week.
Shaw said: "Whatever has to be done (managerially) needs to be done sooner rather than later."
He added: "Whoever is in charge of the club, they will have the same group of players and I have to say they have been great and not give us a minute's problem.
"They have worked very hard but when it comes to the pitch we need a few nasty characters and a few generals."
