Coventry caretaker boss Richard Shaw insists the League One strugglers need to quickly resolve their managerial situation.
The club's long wait for a league win continued with a 4-1 mauling at Shrewsbury.
Shaw admits he has no idea whether he will still be in charge for Saturday's home game against Carlisle after the Sky Blues suffered a fourth successive league defeat.
But he again stressed there was a growing need for stability with Coventry, for whom a late penalty from John Fleck was the solitary highlight, remaining one place off the foot of the League One table.
"Something needs to be sorted out sooner rather than later," said Shaw. "The players need direction and need to know where they are.
"Being the caretaker you can't lay down what you want to lay down in terms of discipline and everything else. At the moment everything is in limbo and needs to be sorted out."
