Seattle Sounders release forward Kenny Cooper

SEATTLE -- Kenny Cooper has been waived by the Seattle Sounders after the team was unable to find a trade market for the forward.
Seattle made the roster move with Cooper on Thursday. General manager Garth Lagerway told reporters that Cooper's contract didn't fit in Seattle's framework and there was no trade market available.
According to the MLS players union salary report from October 2014, Cooper made $265,625 in guaranteed compensation

Cooper came to Seattle via a trade with FC Dallas in December 2013. He appeared in 22 MLS matches for Seattle and scored three goals with four assists.
Cooper also had six goals in four matches during the U.S. Open Cup, helping to lead Seattle to the title.
