Scottish Premier League Roundup, Nov. 7
Rangers returned to winning ways in the Scottish Premier League on Sunday, staying top of the standings with a 3-1 victory over St. Mirren.
The defending champion, whose perfect start to the season ended with a draw at Inverness, has now won 10 out of 11 matches to hold a one-point lead over Celtic.
Rangers went ahead through Marc McAusland's own goal three minutes into the second half before Steven Naismith and Kenny Miller also netted. Michael Higdon scored a consolation for St. Mirren from the penalty spot.
"St. Mirren were very well set up and it was difficult to get through them," Rangers manger Walter Smith said. "I felt we needed to lift the pace of the game which we did after the interval and started to create a few opportunities and got the goals."
On Saturday, Celtic thrashed Aberdeen 9-0.
