Rangers kept its one-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premier League despite a 3-0 loss to visiting Hibernian on Wednesday after second-place Celtic lost 2-0 at Hearts.

Liam Miller, John Rankin and Francis Dickoh scored to hand Rangers its first league defeat this season and give Colin Calderwood his first victory as Hibs manager.

Ian Black put Hearts ahead in the 28th before Celtic was reduced to 10 men by Joe Ledley's red card. David Templeton rounded off a 58th-minute counterattack before Celtic manager Neil Lennon was also dismissed for protesting against a decision to deny his team a penalty.

Rangers has 31 points. Third-place Motherwell has 22 after Nick Blackman's hat trick earned a 4-0 win over St. Johnstone.
