Rutten concerned by Reis injury
The 21-year-old Brazilian striker was carried off on a stretcher in the first half at the Philips Stadion after hurting his knee in a collision with visiting goalkeeper Przemyslaw Tyton. Rutten and PSV will be keeping their fingers crossed as Reis, who has scored eight league goals this season, undergoes hospital tests to determine the severity of the problem. "Jonathan's injury is a bad blot on this beautiful afternoon," said Rutten. "We were just shocked by what happened around him." Anouar Hadouir got European hopefuls Roda back on level terms midway through the first half after Jeremain Lens' opener but substitute Marcus Berg restored PSV's advantage eight minutes after the interval and Balazs Dzsudzsak sealed the win. "We got going again after the break," added Rutten. "This was a vital game. We were keen to take all three points and bid Ibrahim Afellay a nice farewell [before joining Barcelona]. We managed to do both. "Scoring an early goal, we got off to a flying start. We lost concentration and rhythm when Reis had to be taken off but after the break we got going again and created enough chances to score more goals." Roda coach Harm van Veldhoven acknowledged his team had been second best. "PSV were the better team after the break," he said. "They put pressure on our defence and switched quickly from defence to attack. "We were sloppy in our passing and could not create any meaningful chances any more. So we must admit that PSV fully deserved their win." Second-placed FC Twente's game against Heracles Almelo was called off on Friday, as was fourth-placed Ajax's clash at home to Feyenoord yesterday afternoon.
