FC Porto midfielder Ruben Micael earned his first call-up to the Portugal squad for friendlies against Chile and Finland.

Micael has 10 goals for the runaway Portuguese league leader this season.

Coach Paulo Bento said on Friday he wants ''to try out some new tactics and give an opportunity for players to show what they can do for the national team.''

Bento also recalled Real Madrid defender Pepe, Porto's Ronaldo and Silvestre Varela, and Braga defender Silvio.
