The Canadian starlet will see his current deal at Ewood Park expire next summer. A number of Premier League clubs are believed to be monitoring his situation closely, with there a possibility he will soon become available. Blackburn are keen to prevent such a situation from occurring and hope the 21-year-old will commit his long-term future to the club. Rovers boss Steve Kean has been working hard on thrashing out a deal, with discussions having been held with Hoilett's family. He is confident an agreement will be reached, with the package put to the promising forward considered to be very appealing. Kean told the Lancashire Telegraph: "I had a great talk with his mum and dad in Toronto. "He has since received an offer of a very good healthy contract and the signs are that it is progressing well." Further talks are expected before Hoilett decides whether to put pen to paper or not.
