Rossi eyes move to Italy
Giuseppe Rossi has announced that he intends to return to Italy once the transfer window reopens.
The 23-year-old striker has spent the last three years in Spain with Villarreal.
In fact, a loan spell at Parma in 2007 is the only time he has spent in his homeland during the course of his professional career.
Having joined the academy ranks at Manchester United while still in his teens, Rossi made the breakthrough at Old Trafford.
He found first-team football hard to come by, though, and moved to Spain in 2007.
Rossi now feels that it is time to bring that chapter to a close, as he has set his heart on securing a switch to Serie A in the New Year.
Reports have already suggested that Fiorentina and Juventus may be willing to strike a deal, but for now the Italy international is keeping his options open.
"I hope to return to Italy in January," Rossi told tuttomercatoweb.
"Fiorentina or Juventus? I don't know if they were interested over the summer.
"Any team will be fine, we will just have to see what happens.
"The most important thing, I repeat, is that I come back to the Italian championship."
