Ronaldo delighted by treble
Cristiano Ronaldo was pleased to net his first Champions League hat-trick for Real Madrid in Wednesday night's victory over Ajax.
Ronaldo struck in the 42nd, 79th and 81st minutes of the 4-1 win in Amsterdam to collect his second treble in four days and 17th in total for Madrid since his world-record ?80million move from Manchester United in 2009.
Happy though he was with the three goals, Ronaldo felt the three points were the key thing as Madrid made it two wins from two in Group D.
"I'm very happy because we won and we played very well. This result is important to build confidence ahead of the next game that we have," said Ronaldo, whose side take on arch rivals Barcelona at the Nou Camp this weekend.
"Scoring three goals is crucial for me and gives me confidence. It's important for me to score three goals, but the most important thing is always the victory of the team. I repeat that I'm very happy with the way things have gone in this match," he added in AS.
