Miralem Pjanic scored twice and Alessandro Florenzi added one goal and set up another as Roma downed Toronto FC 4-1 in a friendly Wednesday.
Pjanic, a first-half substitute bent in a free kick in the 67th minute to make it 3-1, then extended the lead to 4-1 in the 87th after stealing the ball, wrong footing goalkeeper Quillan Roberts and backheeling a shot home.
Toronto opened the scoring against the run of play on a 15th-minute after an own goal by Roma captain Nicolas Burdisso. Then Roma took charge.
Roma's stars - Francesco Totti, Daniele De Rossi and newcomer Kevin Strootman - either came in late or watched the victory.
