Rodwell is still only 20 but has gained a lot of Premier League experience since breaking into the first team in 2007 and has been a regular starter this season. Moyes praised the midfielder's growing maturity over the weekend but insisted that he should no longer be making mistakes like in his younger days. Rodwell does not have a problem with his manager being so demanding and hopes to play a key role for the club this season. "The manager's words were fair," he said in the Daily Star. ''I need to show everyone that I'm a senior player now. "But I am confident and I feel like I'm getting there." Everton face Chelsea in the last 16 of the Carling Cup on Wednesday evening and Rodwell is looking forward to the clash at Goodison Park. He said: "Night games at Goodison are amazing and our fans make the atmosphere brilliant. It's a very hostile place to come to. "Chelsea are obviously a great side so we won't be taking anything for granted. "But hopefully our fans will get behind us and we can put on a performance. "Then we play United. It's never a good time to play them but they've come off a bad defeat so, hopefully, their confidence isn't too great. "We've got momentum, so hopefully we can keep getting wins."
