Rodgers: Sinclair will kick on
Sinclair scored 27 goals to help fire Swansea to promotion this season, but had only found the net with three spot-kicks before his goalbound effort was helped in by Fulham midfielder Clint Dempsey. And Rodgers, who praised Sinclair for his link play with the likes of Leroy Lita and Luke Moore, believes the strike will be a huge confidence boost for the former Chelsea man. "You'll see the change in him now," said Rodgers. "His all-round game was great, he was a threat for us and he puts defenders on the back foot. I thought he combined much better than in some of his other games instead of being a soloist all the time. He was unfortunate a couple of times." The win over Fulham moved the Swans up to 11th in the table and they have a five-point buffer between themselves and the relegation zone. But with his side facing testing trips to Newcastle and Everton in the next nine days, Rodgers knows there is still plenty of hard work ahead of his side. "It's very pleasing but we are not going to get carried away," he said. "We know that wins at this level are vital." Swansea are currently waiting to hear if Cliftonville have accepted their improved offer for 19-year-old striker Rory Donnelly, while the club have also been linked with moves for Preston duo Jamie Proctor and Adam Barton as well as NEC midfielder John Goossens.
