Roberts' relegation fears

Rovers went down 4-3 at Wigan in a real ding-dong Lancashire derby on Saturday, but having taken the lead and missed several chances to extend it, the Latics came back into the match to seize the initiative. Roberts scored the first at the DW Stadium, where he used to ply his trade from 2004 to 2006, but concedes that Rovers have to overcome a slump that has now seen them lose four of their last five games. He also commented on the state of the Wigan pitch, which became incredibly boggy following a heavy downpour on Friday night, but felt that this was not worthy of an excuse. "We didn't show the professional attitude we needed after going a goal up," he said. "To let the game run away from us the way we did was shocking from our point of view, so the dressing room is really disappointed. "We're not worried yet - but we're certainly in a worse position than we were a couple of weeks ago. "We know we have to get it right and get some more points quickly. "I used to play here, so I know what it's like. It's not a great pitch - but they seemed to do all right with it."
