River flows against Independiente
River Plate kept the pressure on Newell's Old Boys with a 2-1 win over Independiente which took them level on points with the Clausura leaders and pushed their opponents closer to the drop.
Juan Iturbe netted in the 21st minute and Manuel Lanzini doubled the advantage just after the hour mark, meaning Daniel Montenegro's 90th-minute effort was too little too late for the relegation-threatened visitors.
The win put River level on points with Newell's with two matches to play, though the leaders can pull clear as they play their game in hand against Union, who are already relegated, on Monday.
Independiente, meanwhile, sit in the bottom three of the relegation standings, which are worked out over three seasons, and need wins from their final two games to have any chance of staying up.
Emmanuel Gigliotti netted a brace as Colon Santa Fe twice came from behind to claim a 2-2 draw against Atletico Rafaela.
Atletico, who sit two places above the relegation zone, twice took the lead, through Diego Vera (50) and Federico Gonzalez (71), but Gigliotti netted in the 50th and, from the spot, the 85th minutes to deny them.
A Guillermo Burdisso own goal and a penalty from goalkeeper Sebastian Saja gave Racing Club a 2-0 win over Boca Juniors.
