Reports: Tickets for Gerrard's last Anfield game selling for over $3K

Steven Gerrard’s impending exit from Liverpool has made the Premier League game between the Reds and Crystal Palace on Saturday at Anfield the hottest ticket in town.
Some tickets for Gerrard’s final Anfield appearance are selling for almost £2,000 ($3,139) on online ticket markets, according to The Liverpool Echo and The Mail. Fans will fill Anfield to its 45,522-seat capacity for Liverpool’s final home game of the 2014-15 season in order to bid Gerrard the fondest of farewells, as he ends his 17-year career in the Reds’ first team.
The Echo reports website ticketbis.net is offering single tickets for as high as £1,985.53 ($3,114) and as low as £234.41 ($368). The site is advertising a pair of seats for £5,000 ($7848).
Liverpool is offering tickets for much less than their going rate on the secondary market. Ticket prices for Liverpool-Crystal Palace, a “category C” game, range from £37 ($58) – £49 ($77).
Gerrard, 34, will leave Liverpool this summer and join Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles Galaxy as a free agent.
The lifelong Liverpool fan and longtime club captain will be full of emotion Saturday, and fans might feel the same way, regardless of how much they pay for tickets.
