Spanish sports daily AS is reporting that Hugo Sanchez has been
sacked as coach of Almeria football team.
The paper says Mexican was informed of the decision after
Almeria's 2-0 defeat to Espanyol on Sunday in the Spanish league.
Almeria vice president Ricardo Martinez was quoted as saying
that "given the circumstances this decision had to be taken,"
adding that "Hugo Sanchez is a good coach but he had bad luck."
The club was expected to make an official statement shortly.
The Andalusian team is just one point above the relegation
zone and has lost eight of its 15 games this season.
