Arsene Wenger is looking at potential midfield reinforcements this summer and the Latics' Irish star is believed to be among them. The 20-year-old has been hugely impressive for Wigan since joining from Hamilton in 2009. Skysports.com understands that Arsenal made contact with Wigan earlier in the summer, but were told he is not for sale. However, Arsenal's interest has remained and they could return with a formal offer before the end of August. Liverpool have also been strongly linked with the Republic of Ireland international.
