Raul set to weigh up options
Real Madrid legend Raul will seek assurances regarding his status
at the club before deciding on his future.
The experienced frontman is an icon for Real followers
everywhere, having rewritten the history books at the Bernabeu over
the years.
He has spent his entire career to date with his hometown
club, despite numerous attempts to lure him away from the Spanish
capital.
Raul has been a first-team fixture at Real since he was 17
and has been a regular source of goals for the club during that
time.
The former Spain international has, however, slipped down the
pecking order of late and now often finds himself among the
substitutes.
He insists that he is happy to remain at Real 'for now', but
admits 'there will be time to talk' about 'what may happen' in the
near future.
The 32-year-old admits his current situation is far from
ideal, for a man who has had a glittering career at the highest
level, but he accepts that there was always going to become a time
when he stepped out of the spotlight.
"It's not an ideal situation for any player," he said.
"For 15 years I have won practically everything, and in the
last three months I have played less. Sooner or later I had to come
to his point."
