Spanish striker Raul Gonzalez scored twice Saturday in a 9-0 win for Schalke in his testimonial game against current club Al Sadd.

Raul played in the first half for the Qatari side and then joined former teammates for the second before a sellout crowd of 61,973.

Raul played two seasons for the German side after joining from Real Madrid in 2010, scoring 28 goals in 67 Bundesliga games, before joining Al Sadd last year.

The 36-year-old remains the Champions League's all-time top scorer with 71 goals. He won the competition three times with Madrid, where he scored 323 goals in 741 games.

Raul's return was the highlight of Schalke's official start to the season. The club says an estimated 100,000 fans turned up for festivities outside the stadium.
