Scottish champion Rangers has announced that majority shareholder
David Murray is talking to a London-based property developer about
a takeover of the club, which is 31 million pounds ($46.8 million;
€34.4 million) in debt.
Murray quit as chairman last August and has since been
looking for a buyer and the club issued a statement Monday that it
is in talks with Andrew Ellis, a former director of English club
Queens Park Rangers.
Rangers, which has said up an independent board committee to
conduct negotiations with any potential buyers, has not bought any
new players since August 2008.
