Two second-half goals helped Qatar beat Vietnam 3-0 in the first leg of their World Cup qualifier on Saturday.
Defender Mohammed Kasola opened the scoring for the home side, knocking in a close range shot after a header from Bilal Mohammed in the sixth minute.
Meshal Mubarak doubled the 2022 World Cup host's lead in the 50th minute, slotting home a shot from just outside the area. Substitute Yusef Ahmed put the match out of reach in the 67th minute.
Vietnam was outplayed most of the match, with its only clear chance coming in the 21st minute, when L.C. Vinh's drive was saved by diving Qatari keeper Qasem Burhan.
