Pulis admitted that his decision to select Woodgate at right-back might have surprised supporters, but he does not mind making bold choices. "You always put yourself on the spot when you pick the team," he told the Stoke Sentinel. "I have been a manager a long time and I respect the opinion of supporters because they have been supporting the club a lot longer than I have been here. "But everything I do is for this football club, not anybody else. "I wanted to make us a bit more solid away from home and to get a win here is first class. "Everton put you under a lot of pressure. They play good football through the pitch and are always asking questions. "But our two keepers were brilliant and the 10 outfield players worked their socks off."
