Preud'homme: Win a big step
The champions moved two points clear of their opponents as two goals from the impressive Theo Janssen gave them a crucial victory in Enschede. Janssen opened the scoring with a penalty in the 64th minute and sealed the points in style with an individual effort eight minutes from time. "We threatened from set-pieces," Preud'homme said. "After the break, we took control and I think we were the better side. We scored two goals and rattled the post twice. "We are delighted with another home victory, after having seen off Zenit at home. "This is a crucial win for us. We've taken a big step forward in the title race." Defeat for Twente would have put the title almost out of reach, as it would have left PSV four points clear with five games to go, but victory catapulted them into pole position. PSV coach Fred Rutten admitted his side had been second best on the night. "We created hardly anything after he break," he said. "We created a string of good chances in the first half but failed to take them. "We were made to rue these missed chances. FC Twente mainly threatened from set-pieces in the first half. "They deserved their victory thanks to a fine second-half display."
