SWANSEA, Wales -- Bafetimbi Gomis filled in for Wilfried Bony by creating the equalizer for Swansea in a 1-1 draw against West Ham on Saturday.
Gomis' strong header was turned into the net by West Ham's Mark Noble in the 74th minute after Andy Carroll had put the visitors ahead in the 43rd.
Carroll scored with a spectacular shot into the top corner but it wasn't enough as West Ham stayed seventh, three points outside the top four.
Gomis celebrated the equalizer by running to the home bench and collecting a French flag which he held aloft to honor those who lost their lives in the Paris terrorist attacks this week.
West Ham manager Sam Allardyce missed the trip with a chest infection.
Bony is on international duty at the African Cup of Nations, and is expected to complete a move to Manchester City.
West Brom 1, Hull City 0
Saido Berahino gave Tony Pulis a winning Premier League start at West Bromwich Albion by scoring in a 1-0 victory over Hull on Saturday.
Berahino met an indirect free kick from Victor Anichebe to smash home the winner in the 77th minute for his ninth league goal of the season.
West Brom was awarded the free kick after Hull goalkeeper Allan McGregor picked up a back pass from Ahmed Elmohamady.
Hull struggled to create chances after strikers Abel Hernandez and Nikica Jelavic both had to be substituted with injuries.
Pulis was brought in to replace the fired Alan Irvine with the task to keep West Brom in the topflight, and the club moved to 14th place with the victory, two points outside the relegation zone.
Leicester City 1, Aston Villa 0
Last-place Leicester continued its resurgence with a 1-0 win at home to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday.
Paul Konchesky put Leicester ahead on the stroke of halftime with a left-foot strike from the center of the penalty area, and United States goalkeeper Brad Guzan got his fingertips to a header from Leonardo Ulloa to prevent the hosts doubling the score after 53 minutes.
Nigel Pearson's side continued to push for a second and midfielder Marc Albrighton was stopped from scoring against his former club with a piercing drive by another great save from Guzan.
Leicester's Matty James and Villa's Ciaran Clark were both red-carded by referee Michael Oliver for clashing in the final moments of the game.
The victory means Leicester is now unbeaten in four matches.
Burnley 2, QPR 1
Queens Park Rangers set an unwanted Premier League record on Saturday with a 2-1 defeat against Burnley at a bitterly-cold Turf Moor.
It was QPR's 10th consecutive away defeat from the start of the season and the result sees Burnley leapfrog the visitors to leave Harry Redknapp's side in the bottom three.
Sean Dyche's Clarets had two exquisite goals to thank for the three points - from Scott Arfield and Danny Ings either side of Charlie Austin's penalty.
Burnley had the better of the chances after that.
