Porto: Incredible Hulk not for sale

Porto have made it clear that they have no intention of parting company with in-form striker Hulk in the January transfer window.

The powerful Brazilian has long been linked with a move to England, with Manchester City and Chelsea reported to be keeping close tabs on his progress.

Reports in Portugal claim the Premier League giants have had the Samba star watched on numerous occasions this season, with scouts in the stands to see him bag a brace in Porto's recent 5-0 victory over Benfica.

It is expected that he will be on his way sooner rather than later, with the 24-year-old keen to test himself at a higher level.

Porto, though, insist no negotiations will be held in the New Year, even if a big-money bid is lodged.

They have stopped short of ruling out a sale next summer, but are reluctant to part with their prized asset midway through the current campaign.

"No footballers will be leaving our club in January," Porto's directors said in a statement.

"If we receive any proposals, they will be studied at the end of the season.

"At the moment we need our key men in the race for the title and the Europa League."

Hulk's agent has also sought to play down talk of an imminent switch, insisting his client's main objective at the moment is to hold down a regular place in the Brazil squad.

"His aim at the moment is to score as many goals as possible and become an important player for (Mano) Menezes in the Brazil team," Teodoro Fonseca told O Jogo.
