Pompey want O'Hara for cup semi

O'Hara is ineligible to play against his parent club in Saturday's Premier League match at White Hart Lane after joining Pompey on loan from Spurs. The two teams are then due to meet again at Wembley on April 11 and O'Hara would have to sit out unless an agreement can be reached with Spurs. Such is O'Hara's desire to play in the semi-final that he risked the wrath of Harry Redknapp earlier this week by admitting he would not support Spurs in their FA Cup replay against Fulham. Portsmouth manager Avram Grant plans to contact Tottenham and he hopes they will not deny O'Hara the opportunity to play in such a prestigious match. "There is a clause in his contract and we need to accept that and respect it," Grant told Sky Sports. "But if you are not in a top team it is not often that you get to a semi-final at Wembley, especially at Portsmouth, and Jamie wants to play this semi-final very much. "I can promise Tottenham that he will not score against them!" Grant has a good relationship with Redknapp after working as technical director at Fratton Park in 2006. He explained: "Harry is a good friend of mine. I was here with him when we started the process at Portsmouth. "We tried to do something different and I think the year that I spent working with him was a great year."
