Pompey announced on New Year's Eve that the club's staff and players had not been paid on time for a third time this season after a processing delay. Chief executive Peter Storrie remained hopeful that the matter would be resolved quickly and that now appears to be the case. Money has arrived in the bank accounts of club employees, although the players will have to wait a further 24 hours as their wages are on a separate payroll. "It was due to a file not being loaded with the bank," a Portsmouth spokesman told The News. "It wasn't received and processed in time, all full and part time staff were affected. "The club apologises for this and if there are any knock-on effects financially the club will reimburse them."
