Police break up Dortmund scuffles

Police had to intervene to stop scuffles between Borussia Dortmund fans and suspected scalpers seeking tickets for the Champions League semifinal match against Real Madrid.

A limited number of tickets became available Tuesday morning at several sales locations. Some fans camped out since Sunday night to be early in the line.

The local Ruhr Nachrichten newspaper says fighting broke out at several locations when suspected ticket scalpers sent their own people to try to jump the queues.

Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke says the club underestimated the demand for tickets and made a mistake by offering some on the open market.
